Worship Events

Abide- Abide is a time when worship and prayer leaders’ partner with the Holy Spirit to provide a space and time for people to encounter God for a long stretch of time. Abide is two hours, and open throughout – meaning you can come and go as you please. Every Saturday from 7 to 9pm at Dayton SHOP (212 S. Ludlow St. Dayton, Ohio.)

ComeUnity- ComeUnity is a collective of people who have a fiery passion for worshipping Jesus. At their worship nights, you can expect an atmosphere of freedom in worship, reverence for the Bible, and deep love and care for each other! They are inviting you out to their worship sessions this month on September 3rd and September 17th at 7pm at Dayton SHOP (212 S. Ludlow St. Dayton, Ohio.)

DCDC- Dayton Contemporary Dance Company is hosting “When the Spirit Moves.” This is an evening of gospel music and liturgical dance celebrating African American traditions of spirituality, community, and connection to the divine. This intimate and powerful program has deep resonance with Dayton’s faith communities and speaks directly to the spiritual dimension of DCDC’s identity as a company rooted in the Black experience. An evening of President and CEO Debbie Blunden-Diggs’ most beloved styles of dance, When The Spirit Moves reconnects movement and worship in a space designed for gathering. This will be held at St Margaret’s Episcopal Church ( 5301 Free Pike Dayton, OH 45426) on Sept. 25 at 7-9pm or Sept. 26 at 4-6pm. This is a ticketed event but you can grab your ticket HERE.

Prayer Events

Dayton SHOP Lunchtime Prayer Sets- An open space of prayer and worship where you can come during your lunch break to experience the Lord. Let him into your work week by visiting the prayer room or watching the livestream on Facebook. Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from noon to 1pm at 212 S. Ludlow St Dayton, OH.

Thrive Weekend- Thrive Network is hosting 9th Hour Prayer. All are invited to come out and pray for our city, hear the gospel of the Kingdom, and make Jesus Name Great! They have partnered with several other ministries to make this day a success and they hope families and/or ministries will join them. Prayer will be on Sept. 11th, 3pm - 7pm at the Courthouse Square(23 N Main St, Dayton, OH 45402). There will be free food, raffle giveaways, baptisms, people equipped to pray for and with you, and most importantly, JESUS!

Discipleship Opportunities

Thrive Together Nights- Thrive Together is a holistic approach towards addressing poverty where participants feel empowered, experience community, and find hope. We offer job readiness and leadership training, opportunities to try new things, fun activities and field trips for the kids, and support and encouragement through community. Thrive Together meets at Fairhaven’s Centerville Campus(637 E. Whipp Rd Centerville, OH 45459) on Tuesdays from 5:45-8:00 PM for a home-cooked dinner and a time of community where we have fun learning new skills. Childcare and children’s programs are available.

Serving/Outreach Opportunities

Circle of Faith Outreach Program- Is providing a food pantry every third Saturday of the month at 1800 W. Riverview Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45402, at 10 am - 12pm. They service all zip codes. For information contact 937-759-5655. 

Greater Dayton ReFirement Network- This network is about help retirees find solutions and friends who help them not just retire, but ReFire. This group host Bi-Annual large group gathering, monthly and regular gatherings, etc. ReFirement may be new to you and you want to get a better grip on it and how it applies to you. You are welcome to look at their website to get connected and meet with them to discuss the vision, mission, structure, and goals of ReFirement and how it applies to you.

Do Something Weekend- Each year, churches and hundreds of neighbors come together through initiatives like the Living City Project and local church outreaches to serve our communities and help our city shine. Do Something Dayton grew out of these expressions of churches, neighborhood leaders, and community members working side by side. Our vision is to mobilize collaborative efforts throughout the year that help neighborhoods across Dayton flourish. From Oct. 9th-11th the city along with Declare will help connect communities of faith that want to serve with neighborhood leaders who understand their communities' needs, we hope to inspire creative and meaningful projects: neighborhood cleanups, park restoration, painting, beautification, community outreach, and more. Keep Trotwood Beautiful- Join churches, neighbors, community organizations, and the City of Trotwood for a citywide day of service. Let’s come together to Keep Trotwood Beautiful!On Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m., volunteers from across Trotwood will come together for a citywide community cleanup spanning all four wards. Keep Trotwood Beautiful is a collaborative effort bringing together local churches, residents, community organizations, and the City of Trotwood to care for our neighborhoods and strengthen connections throughout the community. Volunteers will gather at a host site within their ward, where they will check in, receive cleanup supplies and safety information, and be directed to designated areas to serve, then come to an after party to celebrate the collaboration. Community/Evangelism Opportunities

Simple Street Ministries- Come out and help them celebrate the fourth annual Let Love Lead Day. Let Love Lead is more than a community event. It is an opportunity for churches, ministries, organizations, businesses, and members of our community to come together to love and serve people right where they are. Our hope is that those who attend not only enjoy the day, but also leave knowing there are people in our community that care about them. There is no charge to participate in this event. The event will be held at RiverScape MetroPark (237 E. Monument Ave.) on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 1pm-5pm. They would truly love to have you join us as they, continue the mission of Simple Street Ministries, and come together as a community to Let Love Lead.

Legacy Grandparent Summit- Dear Christian Grandparents (and parents), you are the second most important relationship in your grandkids' lives. They will model their relationships after your example. They will always remember how you showed up to connect, care, and pray with them. Without the presence of intentional Christian grandparents, families can wither under the strain of our current society. This is why we need community. Intentional Christian grandparents need to learn and discuss together how to navigate these unique family dynamics. One of the best first steps in finding this community is attending the upcoming Legacy Grandparenting Summit on Saturday, September 19th. We are praying that a movement of intentional Christian grandparenting sweeps our city—equipping the saints, increasing joy and purpose that transforms families for generations.

Suicide Prevention Month

Each September, NAMI (National Alliance of Mental Health) recognizes Suicide Prevention Month as a time to raise awareness, spread hope, and spark meaningful action around one of the most urgent mental health issues of our time. These meetings will all be held at Montgomery County ADAMHS (Alcohol, Drug Addiction & Mental Health Services) Board (409 E Monument Ave #102, Dayton, OH 45402).

• Conversations on Access to Lethal Means (CALM)

  • September 14, 2026
    CALM is a suicide prevention training that focuses on reducing access to lethal means for individuals who may be at risk for suicide. Participants learn how to have effective, compassionate conversations about reducing access to firearms, medications, and other potentially lethal means while supporting safety and respecting individual circumstances.

• SafeTALK

  • September 23, 2026
    SafeTALK is a suicide alertness training that teaches participants how to recognize signs that someone may be thinking about suicide, engage them in a direct conversation, and connect them with appropriate resources for further support.

• Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)

  • September 29–30, 2026
    ASIST is a two-day, full-day training designed to help participants recognize and respond to individuals who may be at risk for suicide. Participants learn how to identify warning signs, develop a safety plan, and provide immediate intervention and support to help someone stay safe and connect with additional resources.

• Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR)

  • September 29, 2026 | Virtual
    QPR is a brief suicide prevention training that teaches participants three simple steps—Question, Persuade, and Refer—to recognize warning signs, ask someone directly about suicide, and connect them with appropriate help. This training is nearly full, so registration is encouraged as soon as possible.

Alpha

Alpha is an evangelistic course that provides a safe, judgment-free space for people who are curious about Christianity to ask honest questions and explore the foundations of the Christian faith. In the first five weeks, we’ve seen participants open up about real struggles, ask tough questions, and begin to encourage and pray for one another—both believers and seekers alike. A beautiful sense of community is forming as people discover what it means to be in relationship with God. A key part of Alpha is sharing meals together each week, and the Alpha Retreat, where participants set aside focused time to encounter God in a deeper way. These gatherings are vital to creating an environment of trust, openness, and life-changing conversations. Alpha is a series of conversations about things we all question in life: Why do bad things happen to good people? What's the purpose of life? What's next? 

If you or a friend are looking for a judgment-free space to ask hard questions and share your own opinion, there's a place for you. There are a few different Alpha’s happening:
