Let's go, Church!!
See those seats? That's roughly 4,000 seats right there. Counting the seats on each side and the floor that don't fit in the screen, we have over 7,000 seats that will have a clear view of the platform. The Arena has over 13,000 seats, and nearly all of them will be able to view one of the four jumbo screens so they will be able to see even if they're behind the stage.
Why can't we fill every one of them for this event? Why have people suggested to me that this event will be a flop because we're not bringing in a big name act?
We fail to understand the sheer glory of our God, and the mission and Commission to which He has called us.
This arena is filled, many times a year. It is filled for UD Arena basketball games, play-in games for March Madness, and has been filled numerous times for different musical artists.
We can fill every seat for a sports team or an artist's name, but we can't fill it for the name of Jesus Christ? Church, what does this communicate to the world around us? I have nothing against sporting events or musical concerts, and am in no way suggesting that you shouldn't attend such events. All I am suggesting is that if we can so easily fill the arena for these, we should fill many arenas to lift high the name of Christ!
The world is watching. There are many who know Declare Dayton is happening. It's on billboards throughout Dayton and will hit radio advertising soon. Channel 7 news covered our Church Leaders Luncheon and indicated that they planned to cover the event. This city will be watching. Will they see a weak, divided, and ineffective church that has lost its luster?
Consider for a moment the incredible witness when they see the arena packed to the brim with God's people, for the sole purpose of lifting high the name of Jesus Christ. When they see God's people bring hundreds and thousands of shoes to reach this city with the love of Christ. When they see God's people give generously to support mothers and families in need.
Church, let's rally together to show this city and the world the love of Christ! Let's not sit on our couches and like Facebook pages. Let's rally together at UD Arena on September 30, lifting our voices together in one voice to proclaim to this city and the world that Jesus Christ IS worthy of our worship, IS the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, and has given His very life to bring salvation to all who would repent and believe!!
We. Need. You.
This world needs to see the hope of Christ.
How will they see it if the Church doesn't rise up?
We've been given a light.
We have been chosen to be the salt of the earth.
NOW is the time to stop hiding the light.
NOW is the time to stop living in indifference.
NOW is the time to stop dwelling in bitterness.
NOW is the time to stop living in disunity.
NOW is the time to leave sin and bondage behind!
NOW is the time to proclaim the hope of Christ!
NOW is the time to declare the glory of God!
Let's go, Church!!!
