Declare Dayton Highlights
Whew. Hard to even know where to start. The last few weeks have been a whirlwind.
OK, I've got it now. PRAISE THE LORD!! If there is clear response to what God did at Declare Dayton, it is to continue to give Him praise for what He did! There were over 150 singers and musicians involved, 75+ volunteers and several thousand in attendance. The music sounded incredible, and the lights and production were excellent as well.
But this event wasn't about the lights. It wasn't even about the music, or the people on the platform. It was ALL about lifting high the name of Jesus Christ! Declaring the glory of God. Proclaiming the hope of Christ to a hurting world. And I believe that is just what made Declare Dayton so incredible and so special. People fill arenas all the time, even for Christian concerts. But rarely do we do so for the sole purpose of lifting high the name of Jesus.
Jesus is enough. Do you believe the name of Jesus is enough to fill an arena? To transform our lives? Enough to make us submit every area of our lives to Him? We do. And we believe that is the revival that is happening and that is yet to come. Jesus is not meant to be a sideline on a Sunday morning service. Jesus is why we exist, and Who we live for. He is our everything. We saw several thousand grasp that and celebrate that two weeks ago at UD Arena. And we believe this is just the beginning of what is yet to come. The arena can seat over 14,000... and we're holding out for the day that we see every seat filled under the name of Jesus Christ. He. Is. Enough.
This was driven home to me when I had the opportunity to give Evan a big bear hug. Evan was one of a number of individuals who gave their lives to the Lord at Declare Dayton. Evan realized that Jesus was enough, and submitted his life to Him as Lord and Savior that night. As I excitedly hugged this young man, I was reminded again. He. Is. Enough!
If you came, thank you for worshiping the Lord with us! Every person who came is a crucial part of this work of the Lord. We also praise God for people bringing over 100 pairs of tennis shoes for the shoe drive with Shoes 4 the Shoeless for the poor and homeless people served through Target Dayton Ministries. Also, we celebrate over $5,000 raised for the Miami Valley Women's Center!
Many have understandably asked us, "What next?" Great question. The very short answer for the what next is our upcoming Worship Workshop on Saturday, October 22, providing Biblical and musical training for entire worship teams. We have brought together 13 instructors throughout the Miami Valley to provide instruction in every major discipline of a worship ministry team, from stage lighting to vocal techniques. If you know anyone who would like to attend and grow to better serve the Lord in their church, please have them register at www.daytonworkshop.org. We have about 65 registered so far and have room for lots more. Only $15/person through Monday, $20/person Tuesday through Saturday. Below you can watch a video with interviews with 4 of the 13 instructors.
After that, we're praying for God's direction in holding future Declare worship nights. We believe the spark that we saw two weeks ago at UD Arena is meant to continue to grow and catch flame throughout this community and beyond. We've already contacted several venues throughout the Miami Valley to begin exploring options for future opportunities to rally God's Church to declare His glory. We're excited to announce these as soon as we have them finalized!
Last, we believe God would have this spark and flame spread far beyond the Dayton area. When wildfire gets started, it's hard to stop it. We pray that this movement of God's people realizing the He Is Enough will grow and flourish and expand in miraculous ways. If you are outside the Miami Valley or know someone else who is and would like to see a similar event in their city or community, please contact us! No city is too large, no town is too small. All people and nations need to see the people of God rally together to proclaim the hope of Christ!
Let's stay on our knees before the Lord, seek Him together, and then hang onto our seats as we witness and participate in God doing incredible things, for His glory!
