The Worship Workshop exists to train entire worship teams both musically and Biblically. We are very thankful for Beavercreek Church of the Nazarene for hosting this year's workshop! Instructors are from various churches throughout the Miami Valley and will be covering every major discipline of worship ministry, from vocal techniques to stage lighting. Jim Cato

Associate Vice-President of Christian Ministries
- Cedarville University

Jim Cato has served at Cedarville University over 30 years and is currently the Associate Vice President for Christian Ministries.  One of his roles at Cedarville has been to lead HeartSong Ministries.   He has been involved in leading worship over 40 years, as well as teaching worship seminars at conferences and in local churches. Jim earned a BA in Music from Cedarville University and a Bible Diploma from Faith Baptist Bible College.   He served in the Ohio Army National Guard Band for 25 years.  He and his wife, Melody, of 39 years, have three children and 3 grandchildren.


Jason Bradshaw

Lead Pastor - Gospel Community

Jason is the pastor of Gospel Community Church in Troy, Ohio. Previously, Jason served as the pastor of music and counseling at Greenville Grace Brethren Church in Greenville, Ohio. Jason and his wife, Jodi, reside in Troy with their three kids; Owen, Ellie, and Sam.


Susan Plemons

Assistant Professor of Worship - Cedarville University

Susan Plemons is Assistant Professor of Worship at Cedarville University and a Certified Master Teacher of Estill Voice Training.  She has served eleven years as Minister of Worship for 2 churches and also on the faculties of Southeastern University and the University of South Florida.  She received her BM in Vocal Performance from Baylor University and MM in Choral Conducting from the University of South Florida. She is called upon to share her expertise in Contemporary Vocal Techniques, Multi-cultural Worship, Worship Administration, Women of Worship and Relationship Building for Music Education Classrooms.

Roger O'Neel

Director of Worship Department - Cedarville University

Dr. O'Neel serves as Associate Professor of Music and Worship, and as director of music theory. He has served for 11 years as a full-time minister for worship and has a wealth of experience and knowledge in all aspects of traditional and contemporary worship. He received his Ph.D. in Music Theory from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996 and has been at Cedarville University since 2002.

 


Matt Scruggs

Tech Director - Beavercreek Nazarene

Matt is the Technical Director at Beavercreek Church of the Nazarene and is in charge of creating weekly media content for Sunday services. He also is responsible for recruiting and training a volunteer tech team for live audio, intelligent light programming, multi-camera operation and steaming audio, and graphic presentations.


Michael Couch 

Guitarist - Greenville Grace

I've played guitar for 55 years, and most of the time it was for my own glorification. Then late in my life God ran me to ground and now I am blessed to do something I love for Christ, who has done infinately more for me.

 


Aaron Clark

Worship Leader - Restored Life Ministries

Aaron Clark grew up in music ministry and leads worship at Restored Life Ministries in Springfield. He also leads Aaron Clark and Ministry, traveling and ministering throughout Ohio and across the country. 


Todd Matthew

Bassist - Ginghamsburg Church

Todd Matthew has served for 15 years as a bass player for modern worship services. Todd currently plays at Ginghamsburg Church in Tipp City and is a member of EUM church in Greenville.


Brent Nussbaum

Drummer - Fairhaven Church

Brent has been the primary drummer at Fairhaven Church since graduating high school in 2003. He transitioned to a full-time position in 2007 and continues to have an influence in the worship culture at the church. He has a passion for corporate worship and loves the opportunity to use his gifts for Christ. He has been married to Krysanna since 2008 and they now have 3 children, 2 biological and 1 foster, (Ellie – 4; Tidus – 3; Samiya – 4 months). When not involved with church related ministry you will probably find Brent hanging out with his family, doing something sports related, or working on a project at his house.


Tim Cary

Worship Pastor - Cornerstone Baptist

Tim is a graduate of Cedarville University and has served as worship pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Springfield, Ohio since 2004. He lives in Springfield with his wife Molly and their two children, Janna and Josh. In his spare time, Tim enjoys doing freelance work in sports media (@TimCary) and helping tutor students to prepare for their ACT/SAT exams (@ACTTutor34).


Dusty Sturk 

Worship Pastor - Beavercreek Nazarene

Dusty Sturk is an Ohio native, living around and in Dayton for the last decade. Having a deep passion for music and the arts. Dusty was called into full time ministry directly out of college after receiving his bachelors degree in piano performance from Wright State University. He is also currently finishing a masters degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Most Recently he has just finished his second instrumental piano album called Keys to Faith. Dusty has served in many denominations, including Southern Baptist, Nazarene, Lutheran, and C&MA churches around the greater Dayton area. As a multi-instrumentalist, Dusty has a passion for developing and teaching skills in many areas of music and worship leading. 


ALEX GRODKIEWICZ

Worship Arts Director - Refuge City Church

Alex Grodkiewicz is from a little bit of everywhere, Born in Indianapolis and raised in Detroit: Alex now lives in downtown Dayton and had works Refuge City Church as a worship and media director; Organizing worship teams and growing church involvement with the local music and arts scenes in the downtown area. Alex studied contemporary piano at Cedarville university and has a background in classical music. 

In his extra time Alex does photography and graphic design for various organizations and people throughout the downtown region. 


Greg Jones

Electric Guitarist - Jacob Shane & Co.

Greg Jones has over ten years of experience serving as a contemporary worship leader at various churches in the Dayton, Ohio area.

Greg is the guitarist for Jacob Shane & Co. and Jam Signal. As a solo artist, he has recorded two albums, String Theory, an instrumental guitar oriented rock album and Manifest Destiny, an instrumental piano album. He is the former member of the Collaboration Element, who released the The Science Of Music album.

Greg has taught as a guitar teacher both as an adjunct professor of guitar at Cedarville University and at McCutcheon Music Studio.

In addition to the music, Greg works full time in IT as a systems administrator.
